Certified Professional Mental Health Coach

The Professional Mental Health Coaching (PMHC) program is a biblically grounded, skills-based training designed to equip coaches, ministry leaders, and non-licensed helpers to serve individuals facing common mental and emotional health challenges. This advanced certification builds upon the foundational Mental Health Coach (MHC) program, offering deeper insight and more targeted strategies for working with individuals in need of hope and direction.

Developed by a team of clinical experts and Christian educators, the PMHC course addresses core topics such as anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, suicide prevention, crisis care, and when to refer. Emphasizing both practical skills and spiritual sensitivity, this course helps participants grow in confidence, competence, and Christlike compassion as they support others through life’s difficulties.

This certification does not guarantee the competency, skill level, or effectiveness of any credential holder or their services. Light University or the International Board of Christian Care (IBCC) assumes no responsibility or liability for the application of this material in professional, pastoral, or coaching settings, nor for any outcomes associated with the use of these services.
